Well, I want to paint my laptop all black, to match the base (not gloss, flat). On dells website, they show how to take a majority of it apart, which wokrs great for me. I want to also take the actuall LCD out of the housing, so that I can paint it. Here (http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/ins700m/en/SM/display.htm#wp1084976) is a link to how to remove the lcd, but they stop there. Has anyone removed this further?
Thanks

There should be screws under the rubbet feety things and then the shell is probably held together with locking tabs that you'll have to pry apart with an X-Acto knife or dental pick.

I actually just pulled apart a Dell Inspiron 500 and a Sony vaio laptop lcd's
There are little screwes under the small round rubber things near the hinges.. use an exacto to get them off. then unscrew it. The front panal of the lcd will eather have tabs or in my inspirons case.. alot of really sticky tape.
I've swapped screens on a dell 8600. Its not too hard. Becareful with the plastic. I don't know about the 700m but on mine its kind of cheaply made.
