I have a Samsung 712N LCD monitor and it works fine in windows but when I get into a game it starts to flutter horizontaly. Its not the refresh rate. It seems like it might be nosie coming from one of my video cards fans. If I upgrade my video cards fans, would this help?
You said its not refresh rate, but to double check, make sure you do have refresh rate override turned on, or the driver may default to 60hz. Are you running the screens native resolution? Drivers up to date? You are running crossfire, maybe its an issue with that? Can you describe the 'fluttering' in more detail? Maybe its video artifacts, are your cards overclocked? Are you using DVI or analog?

LCDs should be set to 60hz. There is no gain in having them higher. Double check to make sure that in the game options, that it is set to 60hz. I doubt the fan is making electrical noise.

Are you running the screens native resolution? YES, 1280x1024
Drivers up to date? YES, ATI 6.2
You are running crossfire, maybe its an issue with that? YES, when I turn it off the lines are still there.
Can you describe the fluttering in more detail? There like rolling lines at the top off the screen that cover more of the screen as the system requires more performance. There not as sharp as the lines created by refresh rate issues, I think but maybe I could be wrong.
Maybe its video artifacts, are your cards overclocked? No, you can't overclock Crossfire cards that I'm aware of.
Are you using DVI or analog? ANALOG, the monitor doesn't support DVI. The crossfire cable to monitor cable use a DVI to Analog converter. Could this cause problems?
Hmm the crossfire cable might be the problem. I think crossfire splits the screen into an upper and lower half, unless I'm confusing it with SLI. You said you are just getting the lines on the top half or so of the screen, so that could be part of it. Have you tried physically removing one of the 2 cards and running it with just a single card (not just crossfire disabled in software)? Did you try and hooking up your monitor to the DVI port with a converter? Sorry if I'm a little off, I'm not 100% familiar with crossfire.
