Guys I'm watching a set of speakers on eBay.
How are the Creative Inspire T7700 7.1 speakers (http://us.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=4&subcategory=113&product=5076) ? Anyone have any problems or cons with them?

They sound pretty good, but have some rather weak bass, but at least the bass is somewhat clear. I myself wouldnt say they are the best for gaming, if turned up too loud they tend to pop and distort.

Well right now I have 2.1 speakers and they are currently on eBay $~65 shipped. For that price can I go wrong?

Do you like playing games loud and with tons of bass or do you just want the posistional sound of surround?

Well I like playing games, I'm a BF2 and Command and Conquer guy. But I rarely turn the volume up to 100%, seeing I'm still in High School and live at home with 3 other people in the house even with the door closed and Sound damping in the walls you can still hear outside my room. I want it to be clear though. I do not want the volume at 75% to be crackly.
Then the creative ones wont be such a good idea, mostly due to the fact they realy lack upper volume power, and tend to clip alot at anything above 50% volume.
If can find them for a decent price, the Logitech Z-5300's might be a smarter choice. I have seen them go for around 80-120 bucks. They have a good sub for games (crap for music imo) and great surround posistioning. Besides those, I realy cant think of a budget surround sound setup.

Well I'm going to go for them, see they are right now $20 under retail shipped. They have to be better than my $10 2.1 setup. If I don't like then I can always sell them for what I paid and lose nothing (I hope).
Well I lost the bid, so you were saying Logitech Z-5300's are good?
Nvm those things are going for over $100 after shipping. I'm really in the sub-100 category. Any other ideas? Also I've heard that using the digital out instead of analog will eliminate most of the static? What speakers would connect to the digital out?

Any preferences in number of speakers? Do you just want better speakers, be it 2.1 or what not? Or do you want some surround sound ones?
Just found these for a great price, and the auction ends realy soon.

Oh sorry, No I want surround sound. Either 5.1 or 7.1. I want them cheaper but I will pay $10 is I can get a much better pair, you know. I want ti cheap but not so cheap that I can get a better experience with my current 2.1 setup.

As of right now there is little to none that supports 7.1, and most audiophiles agree with me, that the posistional audio with 7.1 is for the most part lost, due to the contstant matrixing (blending/upsampling) So as of right now, and for the next few years, there is realy no need at all for 7.1
5.1 right now is the industry standard, and in my opinion the most balanced and discrete suround setups that you can do.
Just checked ebay, looky looky :D
