View Full Version : cC0 celerons on BX chipsets
Just read an article where it says cC0 (& presumely cD0) celerons may not work with BX chipsets because those cpu's have a split-plane power requirement. Can anyone confirm or deny this? I want to use a fc-pga celeron & slotket on my old BX board.

Yup, it's true that the iBX chipset cannot supply the split-plane Voltage needed by cCO/cDO CPU's. BUT; still they work on almost every BX mainboard that can supply the lower voltages required by coppermine CPU's (1.55 upto 1.75 Vcore) I have a cCO chip on a iBX chipset with a generic slotket and it flies!
If you use a good quality slotket, it will work just fine.

Make sure you get the latest bios for your BX board, and you should be all right.
The sloket didn't work on my BX board!!!!(shuttle hot661p). But a slot PIII 700 cB0 did!!!:D And it's running at 933 now!! Whoohoo!! If you get it make sure you can return it if it don't work!
