i figured you guys might find this amusing. today, for the first time in two years, i heard the windows booting sound on cobalt. my onboard sound had weird problems with it, i was never able to hear a full range of sounds since it decided my speakers were a subwoofer (they couldn't detect any other way). today i disabled that onboard sound and put in an audigy 4. so far it's awesome, especially compared to a broken onboard realtek. 10/10 :p
