10251 3DMARKS

HOLY S%$#!!!!!

...that's what i said when i saw that final score for the bench on the ATI RADEON 8500....here's the test specs:

1600x1200 32bit
double buffer
d3d hardware only
standard everything else

everyone know that nature scene right...the one that kicks most gpus' butts...highest fps 98 lowest fps 39 avg fps 62 ...

i think this now proves the 8500's victory over nvidia...

unfortunately that wasn't my card...a friend bought it through me because i could get him a good deal...it came in today and i decided to check it out and make sure it wasn't a lemon, then on a whim it benched it and was taken aback....too bad i have to deliver it tomorrow...
:(

why are you saying radeon is better over nvidia?

I remember right when the gf3 came out there where scores over 10,000........ and radeon finaly broke 10,000 months later

now that i read it over again i'm having doubts. I'd really like to see some screenshots. But at 1600X1200(32) I have a hard time believing ANY card right now could get that score. Hope you prove me wrong though.

I just went to madonion.com and could not find it.
The highest 1024x768X32 running all tests score listed is using a GF3 TI500 10495
There are radeons with higher but using 800x600x16.

Guess the score didnt get published :(

BRING ON THE SCREENSHOTS
the Ti500 cant even get that at stock speeds with that resolution....so im not saying anything to you about it....cough....LIAR....cough

hmmm, yeahwe need some screenshots, but if you look at 3dmarks Hall of Fame a radeon 8500 holds the top spot....

Since the highest published score for 1600x1200x32 at MadOnion for 3DMark 2001 is currently 6183 (6479 for 3Dmark2000), I'm having a real hard time believing you. If its true, publish it and I'll apologise for doubting you, if not, well...........

Like I said there are radeons with higher scores at 800x600x16 and if you click on the details they didnt even run all the tests.
I guess that counts thou

I saw in a review recently a supercomp with an 8500 had 10,000+ marks. But I'm almost postive it wasnt 1600x1200.

i'm sorry guys i made a booboo in what i typed...

that bench was at 1280x1024 not 1600x1200

i've been gone since i posted that and i didn't even realize that i had put 1600x1200:eek: so let it be corrected and please don't hold it against me

i can fully understand your comments about my integrity...i would be the first to call something like that...(hmmm can't wait till that's possible though...won't it be nice...)

neways does 3dmark have screenshot capabilities builtin or will i have to get some other utility to take the shot?
unfortunately the reason i was gone is because the guy wanted his card so i had to deliver it(he needs it for a party) but i'll see if i can borrow it sometime next week and run that bench on it again...and this time i'll take a shot of it...i think i'm gonna get me one now too...

once again i'm sorry for the mistake...exhuberant typing i guess...

will get back with the results soon though i hope

i'm still having a hard time believing that cause mine will only do 7905 3dMarks @ 1024*768*32.(and that was overclocked) To take a screen shot use the print screen button on your keyboard, then past it to paint. We need evedence here! The only way i see your score as being believeable is if you used 16 bit colour.

yes mine was retail with a default 275/275 core and mem

one more thing. How did you get so high in Nature?? mine maxes out at 50FPS and hits a low of 18 FPS. ATi has still not fixed the driver problem here so i see this as impossible.

Ok, best at 1280x1024 is 7240 so your numbers are still a little hard to swallow.

No need to do screen shot, just post the results to MadOnion then make it public in the Results Browser so we all can see!

OH, did I mention that the GF3 Ti500 that I borrowed did 11,200 at 2048x1536? You do believe me don't you amok?

hopefully i'll be able to borrow his card in a few days and then i might be able to redeem myself

btw placid,
that's exactly what i don't want to do...
if i did it would be easy and i wouldn't have to wait...just throw it up here

oh default about the driver prob...
that's why i didn't get it posted because i was in the middle of creating an account with madonion(never had a reason to due to my max score of 2654 on my ve chip...it was embarrassin) and my comp died for like the 20 time in two hours because the xp driver for the 8500 is pretty buggy and i was having lots of lockups...i may have to wait for ati's updated drivers to get one

A while back, Shadow posted his 3Dmark 2001 score of over 10,000. Then thirty minutes later, I posted my score and beat his by 30 points!! ahhhh!!! hahahaha.. it was so funny.

i am just in doubt, about that, maybe it was over 10k points but maybe u got ur settings wrong, the nature test is a ball buster, ive never seen that kind of FPS, also at that res i still think there is no way a card out now can get that score, hell my GF2 only get 5300 @ 800x600 32 bit, that is at 1530mhz, and turbo mem settigns?

I know I could break 11000 if I could get this KT266A mobo to OC to 164 and then OC the Ti500. Right now, I'm at 139, and the Ti500 is set to default and I still get average scores at 1024x768x32 of 8090. I wish I could get pc2400 DDR to work in this config. Oh well, it'll have to do for now. I did OC the pc2400 to 146 and shot past 8500, but it's extremely unstable, even at 139. I had to go back to my pc2100 @ CAS2.

howdo you get such high scores? loads of people have ti500's and few have reached this, im getting a kt266a board with a xp 2000+ wen its out and 768megs ddr crucial cas2 mem plus a gainwood ti200 which im gonna get to ti500 speeds, yet some guy wif a noraml g3 and the board and mem got 10310, HOW?

He also said when he did his tweaks (not ocing) he gained 1000 3d marks???
