Ya they had this on [H] also... so funny cuz I bought the card for $399 - $50 MIR + tax from compusa about 1.5 months ago. CompUSA is competing with online retailers?! :D

I was about to place the order when I realized it said it would cost $30 for tax.
Why is that? Whenever I buy from online stores such as Newegg, I don't get charged tax...

Still a good deal. But that tax thing really turned me off...

If you do instore, you'll get charged tax. If you do shipping I'm not sure... so maybe I'm wasting my breath, lol.

I think it's cuz the CompUSA is in your state and that's where it's shipping from. If you live in a state where there is no CompUSA warehouse to ship from and it comes from a diff state, then maybe you won't be charged taxZORZ.

NewEgg charges tax to CA cuz it ships within state, and also I think they charge NJ tax, and my guess is cuz newegg has a warehouse there as well (which I know they have a warehouse in jersey cuz I live in NY and get packages in 1 day ground sometimes).

Bummer. Guess I'll wait a little longer.
Hopefully when 7900 comes out, prices will keep on dropping.

Man thats an awsome deal. I almost wish I hadn't got my 7800gt cuz I have been hearing great things about the x1800xt's

lol... no, I'm just mimicking ppl, but being sarcastic.

Everyone says "when the price drops to ____", so I felt like playing with words. :)

My bank account hadn't budged in the last several weeks, but I just got a little kick to it recently. I haven't been buying as much, and trying not to eat out, so that I can save up for PC parts again, lol.

I ended up passing on this after all. It would have been a $150 upgrade but I don't need a better card yet.
