View Full Version : ATI Radeon VE 64 meg DDR
I was looking around on the web and came accross this video card and was wondering what you all thought about it since I dont know much about video cards. The price is $69.00 and its a new retail box with dual monitor support.

It depends.
If your a gamer, I wouldn't recommend it. The VE of the Radeons is kind of the 'business' card of the line. The only thing you might want it for is Dual monitor support.
I would suggest a 32mb DDR/ LE if your looking for gaming at a great price and don't want VIVO.
Or the Radeon 64mb VIVO, which is more money but you get the VIVO.
If your willing to spend more you might wanna check out either the Radeon 7500 or Geforce 2 Ti500.
Personally I recommend the 32mb DDR/LE if you don't want the VIVO, it's real cheap nowadays.
(Of course theres the 8500/Geforce 3, but they cost alot :))
I just was browsing and come accross it. I dont know much about vid cards like I said and especially ATI. Where is a good site to check out reviews and the products that are out there?

from what ive heard the ve has ddr mem but some how theyve cripled the radeon chip, seems to me like this is a card ripe for some clocking if you can find how its been slowed down on the 3d side but iif you dont want to experiment go with the le. but id wait a couple of weeks if i were you the vivo will come crashing down in cost once the 8500 drivers are sorted

If you want dual monitor support the 7500 has it for about 150$.....it will game somewhere between a Geforce2Pro and an Ultra, closer to the Ultra in performance....
