Im considering a new laptop (as told by many members on here because of my current one that i got for free, specs in sig)

I want it for web browsing, word processing, light gaming (old doom games, worms series, starcraft, etc.).

I was also going to get this RAM to go with it. This is compatible with it correct? 768mb of RAM should be good enough, to do the stuff i want right?

That ram should work, yes. And it looks like a nice Acer. I love my TravelMAte 4400. They are built well..

What about these two

Aspire - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16834115200

Now that says it has a DVD+/-RW drive. So does that mean i can burn DVDs (i assume it reads CDs, it just doesn't say it and i want to make sure).

Travelmate - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16834115100

(I assume this one can't burn DVDs)?

Is there really a difference between DDR2 and DDR performance wise?

Can any of the 3 i have listed burn CDs at the least?

I assume these 2 i have listed are better, by looking at the CPU specs of those i would think that 1.5Ghz Celeron with 1mb of L2 Cache is better then a Sempron 1.8Ghz with 256kb of L2 Cache? Am i right or wrong to assume that?

If it has a cd-rw it can burn cd`s, the second one can burn DVDs and all of them can watch DVDs. Both the Celeron and Sempron are similiar in performace, that Celeron is just an old banias without speedstep. The Sempron however will give you longer battery life.
