Ok My current network consist of 2 computers linked using a crossovercable. Installed a NIC card for ym DSL modem, it works FINE, except whent he crossover cable is connected to my system.

SO the picture looks like this:

System #1
ecs k7s5a
duron 700@868 mhz
SIS900 built-in-LAN(using crossover cable to system#2)
netgear NIC 10-100 NIC(connected to DSL modem)

System #2
ecs k7s5a
duron 750@840mhz
SIS900 built-in-LAN(disabled due toa brain fart upon building PC)
REALtek 10-100 NIC(connected to system #1)

Anyone have any ideas as to why my DSL won't connected when the 2 systems are linked? Would redoing System #2 to using the built-in-LAN have any effect? DSL won't help me at all since they dont support networking(no suprise there really). Going to try and buy a DSL router this weekend...should I just live with it until then rather than fight with it all week...maybe get it to working, or not...then possbly having to fight with it all weekend again trying to get things working with the router?
