Well paying more for a 1 Ghz Duron (morgan) vs a 1 Ghz T-bird doesn't really make sense to me.
Seems like they're killing the Duron !!! Nooo :D
what? are you saying my $27 duron is going to be obsolete? I paid this much money and see it obsolete so soon...
I have seen reviews of the 1Ghz Durons, they where better than the 1GHz Tbirds in most of the benchmarks. The morgan core rocks....

I think as long as Intel continues to offer a Celeron core for cheaper pc's and OEM machines, both the Duron and Celeron will remain on the market.
Remember that we (overclockers) are the extreme minority in the computer sales industry. Although we see the detailed differences between the two processor types, the average enduser does not. They see, Processor speed in MHz, memory amount, HDD size, etc.
While the actual morgan and celeron 2 might evolve to new designs, the demand for a lower cost, average desktop machine (like for schools), will continue to drive that offering from processor manufacturers. My .02
