First off, i would like to thank all of you for taking the time to read my post and help me in anyway you can.
So i have decided to use my current stereo system as speakers for my new rig(i figure it's going to be in the same room, so why spend the extra money on speakers just for my computer?). My system is about 2 years old(speakers still rock better than anything i have ever had for that size), but it still is a decent system. It's a Sony, model MHC-GSX75 (http://www.audioreview.com/cat/other/mini-systems/sony/PRD_164150_2749crx.aspx). Now, my plan is to use this (http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16812149118) to connect it to my X-fi extreme music. Will this work, or do any of you have a better course of action that you could suggest?

it'll work, i suggest getting a better cable though, those plastic RCA cables aren't the greatest

Any clue where i could get one? I have looked on Newegg. Today's my day off, so i plan on combing the local radioshack, and BB.

Make sure you get a cable that is long enough to get to your stereo without having to make another connection. I made the mistake yesterday of getting the 3ft cable vice the 6ft. The extra connection was noticable since it occurs close to other electronic equipment. I hear low buzzing when I move my mouse. I got the 6ft cable today and it worked fine.

Monster is a joke. Good but way over priced.

But that is a crazy price!
