My system will not post - will do nothing! I removed all cards, tried a different PSU, even rma'd my AK-31 v3 for a replacement and the new one does nothing. I'm stumped, it has got to be my XP 1800 or my ram (crucial) fried. I don't have another processor to test so it is a guessing game at this point. Anyone have any Ideas? I'm screwed!

On *most* boards, you should have a partial post with mobo beeps if memory is the problem. I would say video or probably more likely xp 1800.
Are the fans spinning up when you power up the complete system? I glanced at the specs and didn't see any mention of a fan header protection feature (board won't boot if you don't have a fan plugged into a specific header).
Have you tried a different CPU or video card setup, either on your board or on a friends?
If you can try the cpu in working system then you could eliminate that.
If you don't have any friends that will let you do that try a computer repair shop they should be able to test it for you.

No it is not a fan header- the only fan plugged into the mobo is the fan on the heatsink. The board powers up, all drives/fans turn on but no post! I guess I'll rma the cpu and get a replacement at Fry's.
One suggestion, next time when you install the athlon xp make sure 100% that the contact between the core and the heatsink is perfect, because there's been report that the xp core has weaker thermal resistance compare to the tbird. The xp could overheat in seconds before you can doing any thing and without warning. The tbird would at least show a blue screen and time for you to react. So, everyone be very careful with your new athlon xp. nikhsub1, to make sure it's you cpu that is dead, maybe you can check for a burn smell from that xp of yours. It would be too bad if you lose a xp with a good stepping.

It was a dead cpu! Sheesh! Less than 1 month old. Was this just a fluke? I only had the fsb to 140, look at my temps they are very good. I shut down one night, came back the next morning and no post. Very weird. I have never fried a chip before. Any comments? Hopefully I just got a bunk chip.

I now have a new mobo and XP 1800! With the old ones I could only get 143 fsb, anything over that forget it! Now I'm getting 150 with no problems at all! Too bad I don't know if it is the chip or the mobo:)
I think it was the athlon xp, because I have mine installed and within minutes, I started to smell burning plastic. Since the pc is still running, I assume it's the new chip smell. My pc keep crashing untill I lower the core voltage to 1.6V, even at the default speed and only 80% stable. My XP1800 was dead in two days of use. I waited two week for it to arrive and worked for two days and now two more weeks till I get my replacement. If I wanna to wait this long, I could have gotten the XP1900 :(
Maybe the rumor of a recall two weeks ago has something to do with it or my Iwill motherboard is really not 100% compliance with the XP ???
