K, I just wnt out and bought a TV Wonder VE, and an antenna.....and it's not working!!!

The priblem is that when I click, TV it says: The TV player failed to initialize the video. Ensure that the correct vid drivers have been installed, and close any applications taht my be playing video such as DVD or a WebTV...

The thing is that when I was installing, it gives me this error (not error, but a warning) DVD drive could not be detected.

Now, I have no DVD drive, but it does not say on the TV Wonder VE box that you need a DVD player, nor is it in the requirements in the site. And why thte heck would you ened a dvd to watch tv

I uninstalled my video card drivers and files many times and reinstalled them. I also reinstalled the TV Wonder VE software and drivers many times....WTF is goingon????

try getting the newest drivers from ATI, and it gives you the warning about DVD drive because it has DVD decoder on board....

meaning it can play dvds without an mpeg decoder card, back when the card came out it was a big deal, says the same thing on my Rage Fury Pro.....

Fs, I thought it was a direct X problem

---------
If the DirectX version installed doesn't meet the minimum version required by the Display Driver you may experience errors when trying to launch ATI software (TV, DVD, etc.).

The minimum version of DirectX required for a given display driver can generally be found on the driver's download page in the "This Driver Requires" or "Supported Operating Systems" sections.

Examples of some of the errors that can occur:

"Cannot initialize Video" when launching the TV Player
"Playback has failed due to one of the following..." when launching the DVD Player.

For gods sake "Cannot initialize Video" when launching the TV Player.... fs. so I d/l the needed file Video Capture Update for DirectX 8.0 which is essentiel. And it still gives me the same message. I will try to reinstall everything realted to the TV wonder. And try it again. If it doesn't work, I'll go and d/l the newer drivers (the ones i have now are only 1 version older)

Your not installing right. It's happened to me too.

You have to install the WDM files. I suggest going through the readme in the installation.

But basically you go to your Device Manager, and find the installed WDM drivers, now update them and point windows to where you extracted em.

Did you hook it up to the Line-in on your soundcard?
