windows me media player problem

hi! i currently have windows me installed on my pc. when i play a vcd (.dat file) using the windows media player version 6.01 (like say for 45 minutes), it hanged! i'm not sure if the problem is on the os, but when i'm surfing using the ie 5.5 + a winamp it also hanged.

can anyone help me?

also, i'm planning on changing the os to win 98se if in case the problem is windows me

That version of mediaplayer is purported to have a memory leak. A patch is available but upgrading to version 7.1 is the best option. Goto windows update.Download everthing recommended or otherwisehttp://koti.mbnet.fi/antiqser/smilies/teleport.gif
