View Full Version : Enabling AGP Transfer Rate
I have a Visiontek Xtasy (5332) GeForce 2 which, according to Sisoft Sandra, is using a 2X transfer rate. Is this a configurable setting? If so, how do I kick it up a notch to 4X?
Config info:
Intel P3 550E@618Mhz
FSB 112
Mobo - Abit BH6 v. 1.01
(2) 256 MB Micron PC133 CL3 SDRAM
Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Rick

go into the bios when you start up by pressing delete and it should be in chipset settings or something like that

It depends on your mobo chipset.
I can only say this for Via sets, but you need to enable it using something like nVtweak or powerstrip.
u will need first to enable it in the BIOS then install the GART for your chipset - this one you should probably find in the chipset drivers and its good to go for the TURBO option if you get it. its possible then you need to force it once OSes will often stuck at 2X, for that youll need a registry entry: softwares like nvmax and rivatuner will be able to do that:
1. enable it in the BIOS;
2. get GART from your chipset driver website (its not really necessary but its better);
3. force the 4X with driver tweaks as rivatuner etc.

Sometimes if you AGP bus speed is really high the video driver will lower the speed from 4x to 2x. You can use most of the tweaking programs, i use Riva Tuner, to overide the driver.
