How to transfer files from one comp to another connected via a usb?

I've never done this before. I've got 2 computers hooked up via a usb cable but how do i transfer the files?
 
Assuming you're running XP... if both PC's have network adaptors, a better solution to using a USB cable to connect the two would be to use a CAT5 crossover cable. Then use the Files and Settings Transfer Wizard to transfer your files...

i dont beleive you can transfer via USB - you can via firewire as firewire adapters are seen as network devices. or get a crossover cable as above.
 
YOu can doing usb, i just dont' remember how. It does require that special cable though
