I need to look up some files on one of the computers at work, Windows NT 4.0  I have a feeling that the stuff may have been either deleted or placed in hidden files by one of the old users. If they've been deleted I'm outta luck. If they've been hidden how would I go about finding them?? I don't have a lot of background on NT as I can't reinstall like I can at home if I make a major error. Any help would be great.

If anyone has some C4...Opps. I mean advice.:D

Thanks

It depends on your user-rights. If you have full Admin rights (unlikely) you can view anything on the PC. If you don't, the other user may have set permissions on the folders so that other users cannot see/edit them. This is a benefit of NT, file & folder security. It is also used to stop inexperienced users from deleting key system files.

Naw. If I wanted to delete stuff I would use a DOS command like, hmmm, format c:  I have been tempted to do this on more than one occasion. It is, after all, only a work PC.

Seriously though, what about if someone accidently hid the files/folders somehow? I've got a hundred page booklet that I may have re-type bucause of somebody's screw up. Too bad they aren't working here anymore. I'd like to kick some butt.:(
