How good are the Swiftech MC462-BA heatsinks. I was thinking bout getting that and stop using my water cooling. If I do get it I'll be getting it with a Delta 80x80x38 68 C.F.M. fan.

One word of warning, That Delta 68CFM 80mm is LOUD!!! It doesn't have as high a pitch of a whine as the 38CFM black label, but it's about 4 decibles (A) louder. When I had my swifty with a delta 68CFM, I could hear it from the opposite side of the house, on the second floor, when my computer's in the basement.
So yeah
Peace

OK now I read all this stuff about how awesome the one-piece skived microfin HSFs are the best, so like a good consumer I went out and bought one (actually online-ordered it but whatever). I had seen the helicoid pin design and liked it but read reviews that all said microfins were better at cooling. Anybody want to put the hammer down on this and clarify?

To me 40-50 D.B.`s isn't what I would call loud. I might even have a prob hearing it. I'm an Ex-D.B. Drag racer. But if it`s a good H.S.F. kit I'll get one thanks guys for the help.

For fan ratings...that's just the fan, by itself, hanging in free space. It doesn't count vibrations or resonances with other stuff in the case, or airflow through the heatsink. Delta 38s are usually measured at around 60-70 dba or so.

60 or 70 D.B.`s still isn't bad. I like things loud so this shouldn't be a prob. thanks all:cool:
