Is the folding software good for full load temps for cpu as well as case temps. I'm running the console version and I'm trying to figure my max temps before I start thinking about trying to overclock. I have a stick of crucial 256 on order and I'm contemplating tweaking my p3 a little bit. Max cpu temp I'm seeing right now with console running is 37c. TIA
Folding should generate full temps or very close to it while the core_65.exe is running.
Yes, it generates full temps.
As long as you're using folding to stress test your system, why not let the work it does count for the overclockers.com folding team? All you have to do is enter 32 in the spot for the team name and the work your computer does will automatically count. Even if you don't want to commit to folding on a long term basis, we appreciate every little bit.
nihili
That number again is 32.

I'm starting to get discouraged with the folding biz. I benchtested p4 with F@H over the weekend. From what I can tell from the logs it completeted 6 wu's not to mention the 4 other pc's I had folding and my count still sits at 5 wu's. Posted below is paste from log.:(
Folding@Home2 Core Shutdown: FINISHED_UNIT
CoreStatus = 64 (100)
Sending work to server
+ Attempting to send results
- Reading file work/wuresults_07.dat from core
(Read 282441 bytes from disk)
- Connecting to server (171.64.122.112)
+ Connection established
+ Results successfully sent
+ Finished WU 7
Working on Unit 07

You might get 1C or 2C higher temps with burnp6/k7. Atleast I did, when compared to F@Hv1. Haven't had the need to stress the CPU in a while, so I haven't tested with F@Hv2.

That WU count from your log is bogus. It is just a rolling count beginning at 1 and ending at 9 and starting over at 9. I have been folding for weeks and my log might say WU 1.
As for the stats, Stanford's stats are behind by a few hours at least and Statsman be be a little more behind, depending on when he updates. Bottom line is, your machines are working and pumping out the WUs and you will see the stats rise. Don't worry.
Keep folding. It's for a great cause and it's good competition too !
