Hi!

Some time ago I read an instruction on how to connect up to 4 thermistors to the joystick port and using a program to give fairly accurat temps. But I can't locate it anymore!!! I have all the components, and soon I'll enough time to build and install the stuff too, so if anybody have the link...

Thanks!

That's the one! And a new version, with temp monitoring in MBM! I like :) Gotta heat my soldering iron now..

wow. this is awesome, i think im going to have to build one of these!

i'm guessing you get all the parts at radioshack? also, could i use my own temp probe for this project? i have a spare one from my asus mobo...

As you wont need much parts I'm pretty sure you can get them at your local electronics shop

Yes but remember the range is isn't that wide (10 k ohm thermistors can register a range of -40°C to 25°C (-41°F to 77°F))
Assuming you have the same as I have (came with my P2B...which I sold BTW..).

yeah, i will have to look at the resistance of my probe.

either way, i can get the thermistors on radioshack.com for $0.49 each.... no biggie.

You could also use a D style connector to clean things up a bit and ease connection and disconnection. i think radio shack sells these type of connectors

Here's my version! Using D connectors and all.

A word of warning, gatting the coefisients (spelled wrong) for the program is a real pain. One of the thermistor alwas gave negative values (unusable) even after a total of 15 readings! (ideal is 3..) But three temps is better than none!

I will have to try this some time...

Anyone know why radio shack sells 5.25" floppys still?
