View Full Version : Just bought the new XP1900
Hi guys,
Just bought the new XP 1900 processor. Very curious to see how it will overclock. I'll post some results soon along with the stepping. I just couldnt wait any longer for an XP. Luckily I waited hmmmm!!!!

Um you paid extra for an extra .5 multiplier? Why? You should have bought the 1800+ I have mine up to 1.726 from 1.53.
Try to cancel and save yourself a few bux. The 1900+ isnt really cost-effective right now.

i heard that the 1900 has a 5 or 10% increase in preformance and does graphics better than the 1800 and the 2000 wont be out till after the newyear said by www.amdmb.com

Ok, my point of view on this goes straight back to my idea of never pay the extra for the best, buy seccond or third to the best and then make THE BEST! BTW just as one of the previous post's where, when u can turn a 1533MHZ(1800+) into 1726Mhz, that would be like a 2100+ or 2200+. Plus that is also like 3 months before it will even be out.

well i am goin to get my chip with my new motherboard for christmas so it might be second best by then
I'd have to agree with the consensus here, as well...
XP 1800+ @ 1702MHz..rock solid stable, and I haven't touched the L1's yet...:)
You pays your money, and you makes your choice, but I'd rethink the 1900+....

See image in above post...Please watch the swearing.
The mods have just posted a note regarding forum rules. It is right here (http://forums.overclockers.ws/vb/announcement.php?s=&forumid=9) .

Well, from the overclocking results that have been posted on the front page, if the trend continues then the 1900+ will be able to overclock more than the 1800+. So that's a bonus there.

guys I am no expert but I must say it seems as if the XP 1800+ likely runs in the same league as a p4 2.2g+. The 1800+ moniker is a joke.
I stand behind my prior post. Granted there may be a better stepping with the 1900+ but its not a guarantee.

i dunno. but i dont see why everyone is ruseing to get a xp processor.. im just gonna wait till the "hammer" or the new cored' thunderbirds come out in the beginning of next year. my 1.4ghz TB is quite good enough, and with good cooling could hit 1600mhz.. thats just my .02 :)
Hi guys,
Yes I understand all your views, however I had the cash on hand so I decided to just buy it. I dont know, like the rest of you guys if this processor will overclock higher than the 1800XP, although I am hoping it will. Another point is that I can get these processors for cost price not retail value.
Saying all this not everyone is getting an overclock up to and beyond 1.7Ghz with an XP 1800+. I suppose its the look of the draw.
My processor will be here tomorrow or Friday and I'll post pictures of the stepping and its overclocking potential. I hope that I will get the new stepping AGNGA.

i hope you get the xp high enough and i am curious to see some results ... but what i dont understand is why are you buying a new cpu ... you have a 1.4 running @ 1.67
(i dont want to interfere with your stuff but isnt that kinda overkill?)
just my thought
my duron 600 @ 800 still kicks a$$
I think he accidently killed he's last CPU....

Technically according to AMD the xxxx+ rating is the comparison to the Athlon. So the 1.4 @ 1.67 will be beat by the 1900+
If the new stepping hits 1.8g overclocked then it may be worth the $ in happiness.
Paul.K.... lol you are geting your chip for cost? hehe I got mine for free! dont be jealous. LOL
If you do get the 1900+ try to o/c that baby as high as you can. I wanna know how much better the 1900+ is over the 1800+ and lower.
Thanx
Mr B, I hope you read this!!!
I noticed you got your XP cpu to OC!!! Altho it was using the KT266 chipset and not the KT266A:-( I have tried to OC mine but no matter what RAM I put in, I get undesirable results. This is true for many who use the Kt266A with XP CPUs. The best results have come from using Samsung PC2100 at CAS2, high performance settings, and fsb OCed to 139, sometimes 140. No changes in voltages. If I drop in Corsair PC2400 at any settings other than the basic settings, I get system reboots and corrupted data. I'm using the original BIOS 3.0 and VIA 4-in-1 4.33. Should I just wait for mobo and CPU maturity or do I have something to be concerned with? I do know people who have the MSI kt266Pro2 mobo that have been able to OC to their heart's delight, but with non-XP cpus.

You should PM this to him if you want to be sure he gets it.
The 1900+XP will be firing up nicely on my Epox 8KHA+ (which has no reboot issues etc). I've already done the Vcore mod on this board and can reach a Vcore of 2.2volts. I'll post the overclockig results on the XP1900+ right here on this tread so stay tuned!!!!!
