Is there such a thing as an Intel Slot 1 Pentium 1? I just came across this, and I thought it was odd. Are they wrong and it is a P2 or is it really a Pentium? Here is a picture. Tell me what you think.

That's definitely a PII there. In any case, the board is an Abit AN6, packed with an FX chipset (remember that?) and filled to the brim with probably 72 pin EDO simms (remember those?) :)

I don't think that the 440 FX chipset supported SDRAM. Boy, that board sure makes you did back into your past!:D

it's a 440fx.
by the way, a server pentium1 slot1... isn't that called the pentium pro?
No, the pentium pro uses the socket 8. It was the only proc to use socket 8 is the direct forerunner of the P2 and P3, which were based on it's architecture.

P1's usually use Socket 7 or Super Socket 7. I think they're the same

P1 used Socket 7 and Socket 5, if I'm not mistaking
*Cough*Slot1 (http://www.compgeeks.com/details.asp?invtid=PIII733S1-2) *Cough* :p
And yes the the regular pentium was a Socket 7,They introduced the Slot 1 type later in the game w/ the PII's,
