anyway my 7.1 setup is in the post as we speak, all that i need now is a screen to complement this set up and i was thinking of this, but will it work on pc?

In all honesty I wouldnt do it. I wouldnt go any bigger than 22" for a monitor. Over 22" it is just going to be to insane, esspecially with that high resolution. If it was a low resolution I would do it, but again its all up to you. I used to have a huge LCD monitor, but I returned it... I was playing Counter Strike and my head was spinning off my shoulders... its just way to big... but I guess to each their own. This is how my set up looked before...

I agree, that for one that screen would be hard for a card to handle, and once you get past that you still have the issue of panning the screen while looking for people to kill. I would say try not to go over a 24" monitor from my excperiance.

its awesome on my mates xbox though, and it would just be a gaming sys.
i can see the point about have to scan a screen like that

um any card could handle that 40" monitor fine because the resolution is crap "1366x768". that being said, the picture is going to look like crap because it has the resolution of about a 17in monitor stretch out over 40"

I agree with cow hunter, the resolution definitely leaves something to be desired. Better off going with a 2405FPW

1366 x 768???
EWWWWWWW, 1300 lbs for that is a total and complete utter ripoff.
Get a 2005/2007 or 2405/2407.
Heck I'd even consider getting the 3007 (not sure how many lbs it is) and just run the res at 1280x800 when gaming which will keep it in native res scale and not look distorted), but still allow 2560x1600 of desltop area.

yeah the 2005/2007 is dells 20.1" LCD (the 2007 will be out soon and is the newer model with more inputs (the 2005 has DVI, VGA and Svideo (so use DVI for your computer and VGA adapter from the xbox)...the 2405, 24" (2407 is gonna be out later but doesn't have any extra inputs IIRC) and that has DVI, VGA, component, composite, and svideo...they're both excellent LCD's, I've owned both (sold the 2005 so i could get the 2405).

IIRC the only change theyre making with the 2407 is making it HDCP compliant
