Or, alternatively, managed to get the built-in card running under Slackware 7.1?
Under both Slack and Win98 I'll get a total lockup sometimes only when playing sounds. Since it does the same thing under both OSes, I think I can safely conlcude it's not software. I have the built-in sound card disabled both on the board and in the BIOS. Still trying to get support from Asus.
Best I can figure out, there are three possibilities:
1) Either my sound card or mobo is faulty and causing problems
2) The Asus A7V133 has some sort of conflict with respect to my sound card.
3) There's a magic "don't lock up" jumper or setting in the BIOS that I haven't found yet.
Anyone have any experience with this?
