Anyone think they'll be an oblivion demo? I would love to see how the game run ons my pc prior to dropping 50 bucks on it.

There was never a Morrowind Demo so I would be suprised if they had one for oblivion.
But there is always hope.

Why release a demo when we are 5 days out from the acual release? Besides, Bethesda said they were going to be putting all manpower towards the actual game rather than diverting resources to making a demo.

A lot of companies release a demo the same day as the release, so why not? And in my opinion it's good business to release a demo, if you know you have a good product, show people by letting them play a demo, that will entice them to buy the game.

Totally agree with that. I mean I'll probably get this game shortly after it comes out but maybe eventually they will release a demo down the road or something. More or less something to get people intrested in it that are iffy about it.

Heck make it a real time benchmark and people would love it.

Previous Elderscrolls games have had a somewhat steep learning curve and took a decent amount of time to become truly immersed in. I know plenty of people who were turned off by just how complex Morrowind was. So, judging from previous ES series games I do not think a demo would be able to give the player a true sense of the game, not to mention, that would be a HUGE demo regardless of playlength

I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for a demo. Everything thats been said by the developers seems to indicate there never will be one from what I've heard.

yes I'm curious to see how well I c an run it. The FEAR demo showed me I could run that game better than I imagined after hearing all the hype about it. Atleast maybe they could release a systems test kinda like the FEAR and Doom3 run throughs to check frames....I know they won't but that would be cool if they arn't gonna release a demo.

Ya I mentioned that above. More or less a tech demo that just shows some of the game aspects.

Yeah a tech demo would be nice. I had sort of the same experience with fear as well. And to hear most people over on elderscrolls.com tell it you'll need a nasa super computer just to load the oblivion menu screen. The oddest part being none of these people have actually played the game at all, although they sure seem to make themselves sound like they are experts on it.
