I wanted to use the software overclocking for my Kyro II, so Iremoved the stock heatsink and tried putting an old pentium heatsink on the card. To get it to fit I had to eventually bore out large sections of the Heatsink. But it seems to do a good job at cooling now.
I'm curious though, has anyone else fooled around with the Software overclocking for the Kyro II? Any problems? What settings did you put it at?

After applying a new heatsink and Arctic Silver 2 to the GPU on my Hercules Kyro2, I was able to reach 184MHz stable on memory and GPU. GPU and memory on most Kyro 2's are synchronized.
The problem is not with the temperature of the chip but the voltage on the card. There is a fairly straight forward Voltage Mod (http://forums.overclockers.ws/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=31679&highlight=Kyro+Voltage+Mod) available for the card but I haven't taken the chance with mine yet.
Following the volt mod, most users have been able to hit between 190 and 200MHz stable. Also seeing quite an increase in the performance of the card.
