GeForce 7600 GT WTF?

I'm guessing it's a 7900GTX Dual (2 chips 1 PCB).

If it's a better version of the single 7900 GTX, or a 8xxx Nvidia card I'm going to be very ANGRY.

Just bought the 7900 gtx.

Guess it is the 7900 GTX Dual. Which is fine, however the idea of QUAD SLI is just for bragging rights, and spending money. No cpu (maybe quad conroe) can support quad gpus.

Article mentions it will be a released in limited quanities, which judging by Nvidia's past will mean it's out to stock every where, with an MSRP of around $999. However, since it will be out of stock, it's only going to be on ebay for ~1400 dollars.

03-17-06, 08:21 PM
the only real reason i could come up with to get one would be a small form factor gaming box that space was an issue and sli is a must, just get one of these and your good to go :p

Is this really needed?

Nope. You'll need a really good PSU and H20 cooling or else it'll be a waste. I'm positive that these things give off an immense amount of heat.

ShadowPho
03-17-06, 09:13 PM
Where was that 1k watt PSU again?

not to mention on the main page of nvidias site with todays time it shows the 7600 and 7900 gpu's available now advertised in large print. I would be more inclined to think that banner just changes at that date

look at the file name, 7600GS

EDIT: also decompiled the flash file, only message is "order your 7600 GPU today!" since the 7600GT is already out we can assume its for the 7600GS.

I'm waiting for the G80 release, which I hope has DX10. Don't think I'll be upgrading my card again until the generation made for DX10 is out.

Its good the Quad cards are limited, that would save the companies suppling them with endless Rma's. its hard enough for them to get drivers right for one and two cards. :)

Why did you have to say this:( I was tempted by curiosity and set my system calender to january 1st 2090 and i got 20 memory errors and now all my programs won't have their next update till 3/19/2090 =/

I think the G80 will be a while coming.. Nvidia seems to be content making minor revisions and getting profits from the upgrade wave :D
