I read that if you raise the pci-e freq you can get more out of these cards.
Anyone care to share?
And how high is dangerous?
Here's the only post I've found so far on this. http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showpost.php?p=1323220&postcount=34
Wow, 122. I guess you'd have to do the vmod first though.

I don't think OC'ing your pci-e bus is smart.
they don't say you should lock the pci-e frequency when overclocking for nothing.

I think the pci frequency is locked on nf4 boards. I'm inquiring about the option to adjust in the bios of the "pci eXpress frequency" in the bios and the effect on the adjustments of the clock settings on the 7900 nvidia video cards.
Thanks for your input.. :)

Doesn't that just increase the bandwidth? I mean, it is high already. How could it help with clock speed?

On new motherboards, other devices are based on the pci-e bus besides the slots. That guy's sata hard drive was based on the pci-e bus so got borked is all I can think of. Try to keep it safe like with pci. Don't go too high. 133 is a 33% increase which was way too much. Also, you could test how high you can go. It won't break anything.

well, aside from any possible risks, it might lower latency, wich might increase performance, but remember: the bandwidth of pci-e is determined by it's number of lanes, not the clock speed.
however, I can't find a connection between the speed of the pci-e bus with the speed of the core.
the pci-express frequency isn't connected to the core frequency, like the FSB and CPU.
it's just like a DVI cable. A single link cable runs at 150 mhz, I think. what gain would you get from overclocking it? "how can I view 2560x1600 on a single link DVI?" "overclock your DVI!"
somebody could try it, however be careful. seems odd that he gets a higher OC from it. it is interesting nonetheless...

First I've heard of this... I've NEVER touched the pci-e freq...
