VA1912wb question

i have the viewsonice VA1912wb 19" widescreen. i play primarily cs:s and 1.6. on the newegg page for this monitor linky (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16824116373)
the vertical and horizontal refresh rates are stated. im playing at the widescreen resolution which is 1440x900. the refresh rate is currently at 60 and dont see any options to raise it. is 60 refresh rate the max for this resolution??

antec smartpower 500w
amd 64 x2 4400+
evga 7800gt
1 gig xms ram
250 gig sata hd
asus a8n-vm

i play with vertical sync on so my max fps is 60 :( any1?

I haven't been able to set it past 60hz either.

would it be dangerous to use a refreshlock or programmed refresh rate say at 75 or so? my drivers for my vid card allow me to do it but i was afraid it would damage my baby
