Hey, I am about to buy an Athlon XP 1600, but I want to make sure I get the best price. I know at Pricewatch.com the athlon 1600 is about 125 including shipping and handleing, but do they ship it right away? and would I be able to get it before this saturday? Anyway, the way I would rather go is buy it at a local computer shop, and the one closest to me sells them for 149. Well, please let me know if that is too much to pay because money is DEFINITLEY and object for me, and I have a post to prove it hehe :) thanks!
( oh yeah, OEM, not box)

Did you buy retail or OEM? I just bought a xp 1600+ that I found on www.pricewatch.com for 115 plus like $10 shipping.
tcwo.com has them for 122 shipped. you just got to call!

well, I ended up buying from pricewatch.com. I found a place that ships the same day, and I paid 26 bucks for overnight! So that is 115 for the processor, and 26 for shipping =141! Which is better then what I would have paid here locally! Only problem is locally they have 1 year warentey, this place has 15 day manufacture warrentey. So fring this chip is NOT an option. So I'm not gonna try Overclocking it untill I get rich hehe. :)

The sad thing is if I do fry it I can't afford to buy another one :( so O/C is out of the question for a while, besides it comes 266 fsb, and 1.4 ghz, so that will be great for a long time to come.

Weren't you asking people for free stuff the last couple of days? Now you've suddenly got the coin for an XP?!?
What gives? Hit the lottery?
Whenever you use pricewatch you should use reseller ratings (http://www.resellerratings.com)
to check out the seller. and you should check newegg.
hope this helps
