The problem is that whenever I play Red Alert 2 online the comp crashes. I can play the game but as soon as the game tries to return to the main menu I get a stop error. "driver irq not less or equal ndis.sys" or something to that effect. I tried to extract the ndis.sys file from my win2k cd but it keeps telling me that it is a protected file. I am wondering if anyone has a trick to extract this thing. TIA

Have you tried installing the lastest Sevice Pack and security updates?

I have SP2 installed and all of my drivers are upto date. I am at such a loss. :( I have reinstalled the service pack to no avail. I have reinstalled Red Alert 2 as well. Should I try a repair of the OS?

Windows file protection will keep you from doing that but there are a couple of ways around that. The NDIS driver is related to windows networking. Try to extract it to a different folder and try to get to a DOS prompt. From there you should be able to copy over to the folder and replace it. I believe it is the system32 folder but I am not sure.
