p4 660 for $200 or wait for concroe,(have a friend at intel)

Right now i have 519 3.0 running at 3.4. My friend at intel said he could get me a 660 for $200. I have a Abit Fatal1ty AA8XE mobo. I dont think its compatible with the conroe. Should i wait for the conroe and get a new mobo? How much is the conroe gonna be about? Thanks

I'd deffintley wait. I have a 2.9 @ 3.6 that will continue to serve me well untill Conroe. Besides, wasting 200 on a new cpu will just make the hit your wallet will take when buying conroe larger.

Conroe is a good 7 months off by that time it wont matter, you will need a new PC reguardless. I say got with not a 660 but a 661 or any Cedar Mill chips for now then switch
