Hey people, I had to RMA a bad EVGA 7800GT CO. Question : What is the difference between a 256-P2-N517-AX and a 256-P2-N517-BX? The reason I ask is because I bought an AX and they are sending me a BX and I just wanted to make sure they are not downgrading on me. TY

I checked the EVGA site and googled it and the BA version is so new it doesn't show up on google so I guess its a card fix, maybe PCB fix or something like that.
You are not being downgraded, at least it doesn't seem so.

I think the AX to BX is probably a board revision. Check the stock clock speed. If they are identical to what you had before, then you are not getting a downgrade.

I dont believe there are any differences card wise, but warrenty wise I believe there is. I would check and make sure you still have the lifetime warrenty with the BX card since I believe its only offered with the AX card.

i won't worry about the warranty. As long as he still has the original receipt, he should be fine. It really don't make sense that he lost the lifetime warranty after EVGA sends him a replacement card with a slightly different model number.

here is something from evga's website "Lifetime Warranty is for all retail Graphics Card and Mainboard products ending in the part numbers AX, DX, or FX. "
