I have an A8V Deluxe, and I was simply wondering if I would have any problems using my Promise RAID controller for my IDE optical drives (not in any sort of RAID :rolleyes: ).

It is possible if you reconfigure it to ATA mode but bear in mind many of the Promise chips cannot read/write to optical drives faster than 16x.

I actually don't do THAT much burning anyway...

CD's. I'm not sure about the DVD speed, besides it might be faster now.
