Won't play midis

I reformatted like a week ago and just now when I tried playing a game, I can't hear any midis. I tried just a normal midi on the computer, still nothing. Winamp loads it without any errors and "plays it", but no sound comes out. It plays all other sounds fine and I've checked volume control, sw synth is the new midi volume right? That's perfectly fine. Max volume and it's not muted.


I've got an asus A8V deluxe mobo, using onboard sound. I've tried the latest drivers off of asus's website and I've used the ones on my motherboard cd, still no go either way. I'm not sure what else to do.

mine is called MIDI Synth. Check your volume properties to make sure it's being displayed, sometimes you have to turn that volume slider on.

My volume control is about 1.5 screens long. I've set it to show the volume for every single type that it has. All are turned up and none are muted. That's what I would think it was too, but it doesn't seem to be.

Weird, you could try reinstalling you sound drivers...

I've tried once off the cd again and once off of the drivers on the site. I don't get it lol.
