Hi I was wondering if I could get some help on which laptop would provide the best bang for the buck so to speak. Here are the models I have found in my budget:

IBM ThinkPad T23 (2647-RU1)
Intel PIII-1.13Ghz, 30GB, 256MB, DVD-ROM, 56K, Lan, 14.1TFT
$475CAD

IBM ThinkPad R40 (2681-HU1)
Intel Celeron(M) 2Ghz, 40GB, 256MB, DVD-CDRW,WIFI wireless lan , 56K, Lan, 14.1TFT, Windows 2000 pro
$599CAD

IBM ThinkPad A31 (2652-P3U)
Intel (M) P4 1.9Ghz, 30GB, 256MB, DVD Rom, Li-Ion battery, 15XGA TFT,Tv-out, Win XP Pro
$649CAD

Toshiba Tecra 9100
Intel (M)P4 1.7Ghz, 30GB, 512MB, DVD Rom, 14XGA TFT,Wireless, Win XP Pro
$649CAD

These are what I have found, if anyone has any suggestions that would be good. I'm looking for something that has good(3+hrs) battery life, crisp display, not bad graphics(able to play GTA,silkroad etc) as well it has to be fairly robust and sturdy. Thanks for your help.

I'd go with the T23, but you should be able to get it for less than that. It should sell for $350, or so USD.

IBM ThinkPad T30 (2366-85U)
Intel (M) P4 1.8Ghz,40GB, 256MB, DVD-CDRW combo, Wireless, 14XGA TFT,Tv-out, Win XP Pro $699CAD
Anyone have any experience with this model at all?

I've got one coming next week, but I have had LOTS of experience with the T23.

Oh, I don't know about ANY Thinkpad having good gaming capabilities. They just don't put gaming video in them at all. They'll run a DVD just fine, but that is about it.
