Well currently i have a voodoo 3 3000 overclocked 32mhz from stock 166. Anyway all you nivdia owners im getting a ATI CARD RADEON 8500 !!!!! The last 3 months i borrowed 2 cards from the nivdia line from a friend. The two cards were a geforce 2 pro made by PNY and a Geforce 3 made by Visiontek. The geforce 2 pro card at first glance was fast but the picture quality sucks big time in 2d and 3d. I still believe my voodoo 3 has just as good picture quality or better than the geforce 2 cards. The geforce 3 all i can say WHAT A RIPPOFF!!!!!! This card i used for a month and saw no difference what so ever in games except it was alittle faster at higher resolutions. The 2d sucked the 3d was the same as the geforce 2 pro and to my oppinion sucked on both cards. The geforce ti 500 is way overpriced why because nivdia knows that they got everyone by the balls just because they know that their cards are the best with compatibility in games. Ati i hope they release those drivers soon because i need to buy a system in a few weeks and i need a new video card to go with it. If i have to buy from nvidia all i will be getting is a geforce mx400 till ati fixes things with windows xp . If i were nvidia i put the geforce 3 ti 500 at 250 bucks and i gurantee ATI will be hurting big time.
Radeons 2d is proven to better and so is the 3d so when the time comes when they release drivers for the 8500 i will be first in line to buy a retail version.

The problem is that even with the Ti500's 350+ price tag ATi is hurting.

yeah i agree somewhat, i got a Geforce2Pro and the 2D was horrendous but then i upgraded my monitor and it still isnt nearly as good as my rage fury pro but at least i can look at the screen for more than ten minutes without getting a headache....

I have a 19" samsung 950p syncmaster which is the number 1 monitor on pcworld.com for the last 8 months.
i cant wait to get a ati card to really see for myself so i can finally satify my needs for a good overall card.
all i can say is that the 2d and 3d on all geforce line of cards are pittiful.

I wouldn't consider nVidia pitiful but... They had some bad 2d performance in their cards .. Just that would you pay 100 dollars more for a little increase.. Lets be specific a 10fps increase?

i really wouldnt say that their 3D is pitiful, in fact before the 8500 ATI had no card that could rival nividia in terms of 3D speed, and the 3D is beautiful as well.......i mean sure the RadeonDDrs held up well against the GTS, but once the Ultras and Pros came out ATI could only sell based on their all around quality......oh yeah, my dad has a syncmaster 17" and oy is it beautiful....and once i swithced that TNT out for my Rage Fury Pro...watch out...that stuff really kicks.....
