hot, did you only do in the inside or did you do the outside cover?

Nice Job. I do see a couple of areas that could use a little touch up though. Wont be hard to do if you spray a little paint into a paper cup, (careful it could blow back on you) and use a model paint brush to carefully paint the bare areas.

I only did the inside, since I do not know how resistant the paint is. By painting only the inside, i'm sure that when the laptop is traveling, it won't be damaged :D
If it wasn't of that, I would have painted the entire thing in red ..
I agree that on the front, I need to fix two spots that have missing paint. The tape didn't stick well there, and raised a bit too much

That came out rather nice, and I like the writeup as well! I may have to look into giving my old HP a new look. :santa:

I generally don't keep my laptops for very long, I just keep the parts inside and swap them.
if the chassis has to break, then so be it, I'll do it again on another

I love it. Red has to be my favorite color, and I think this would be 'my kind of laptop'.
BTW, I notice what seems to be a little orange skin here and there, but nothing too big.
If anything, I'd recomend looking at wetsanding between layers, if you ever plan on truely treasuring a case you paint.

Looks pretty good, if my laptop wasn't an acient piece of crap I would probably do something with it.

What you actually see if a 16 bits JPEG in action. It gives you the feeling of orange peeling in this picture; the image cannot render many variations of red. Correct me if I interpreted wrong what you said.
Some other people recommended to sand between layers, while I think it is a very good idea, I didn't want to do that because I didn't want a mirror-like finish on the inside. I think finger marks would have been obvious, especially on the palm rests. Having a somehow "blurry" finish forgives well when it's dirty
If I ever paint again, I will definitively try sanding.

Could be. The areas I see the 'orange peel' is mostly around the edges, which would have alot of variation in lighting/shadows.
Good point on the not-wanting a mirror finish. Meh, and all the extra work involved...

Awesome job!
Wish i had the guts to do something like that =P I'd be interested in seeing what the whole laptop would look like done up the way you did the inside.

I haven't tried it yet, but there's a guide to a fantastic finish here (http://www.mnpctech.com/case-mod-paint-computer-pc-case-mod-how-to.html). All the paints and materials used are listed.
