Is an athlonxp 1900+, nothing more than a 1500+ that has a changed multiplier?
I'm honestly not sure if thats the only thing or not. Outwardly, one might just think that. Which might also explain the laser cut "trenches" between the L1's. Make it harder to unlock...
I've seen screenshots of an unlocked 1800+, running at a 12.5 multi...actually, it was a pic of someones monitor during boot. The screen showed an XP 2000+...
I've yet to unlock mine, but if/when I do, I'm curious as heck to see what my 'puter says my chip is at 12 and 12.5x. ;)

I think it multiplier has to to with identifying the chip, but the real money is the meaning behind those stepping codes. I think whatever makes the difference in those stepping codes accounts for the extreme differences in speed and the $100 price difference.

That is what I wana know, mainly because I'm getting one awfly soon and I wana know if there's even a reason to pay $200 more for something just marked higher, although when you look at the OC database there does seem to be a difference.
In gereral buying a 1900+ you would have better odds of overclocking to ?? mhz than you would with a 1500+.

I read in another thread that the 2000+'s coming out are supposed to have improved graphical processing. Not sure if it's true or not though. As far as oc'ing I'm going with the 1600+. From the database(I know there's only one entry but)A guy got up to 1.7ghz with air which is higher than the default 1900+. With the 1800+'s in the database the highest possible entry for air is also 1.7ghz. Just my observations and for $150 more I don't think it's worth it. Also look here (http://www.overclockers.com/tips711). Ultimately it's your choice and you already know my choice.
