How close can an X850XT get...

To a X1800XT in speeds, if you OC it? If I want X1800 performance am I going to have to buy one, or can I get at (or near) it wiht some OCing?

There are a few variants of the cards you speak of, check them oput at the link above. you can also adjust the core and memory speeds.

It is definitely capable of at least the same core, but not as high on the mem. I think the mem goes to 750. Go with a built by ati card to increase your odds of getting a card that overclocks well.

On the 800XT list, the two people that upped the voltage hit the 600MHz marker. I'm definetly going to try my hand at it once I get one.

I've managed to hit around 700 on both GPU and memory, but TBH, there's no way it can compete even with a basic aircooled X1800XT at those speeds.
