View Full Version : Help with overclocking P4
I bought processor P4 3GHz and motherboard MSi 848p neo2-v.
In bios I can change FSB from 200 to max 232 MHz. I tried to do everything
but I can not overclock my processor more.
Can anybody help me?Does any soft exist to overclock in windows?

Are you sure your ram is not stopping you from going farther?
can you provide more info on your setup?
Do you mean that you don't have the option to have an FSB higher than 232mhz in the BIOS? Or that you can't get it past there without problems?
Yes, i do not have an option to have more than 232MHz in the bios.
I am sure my rams are OK.
Please can you help me???
:welcome: to OCF :)
not sure how high that chipset/mobo will OC ... I have no experience with it.
... all my northwoods are 865/875 and abit/asus mobos ... Some of my northwoods and my sig rig prescott will not go any higher that what you are getting ... so it could be cpu limited too.
BIOS is generally the best method for oc'ing.
If you are at stock voltage, you will likely have to raise the cpu v to go higher.
Stay at or below 1.6 V for the cpu, or less depending on temps. Make sure you watch temps closely when you are raising voltages, and you may need to improve cooling when you do it too through more case ventilation and more fans.
You may also need to raise NB v and ddr V.
I am not familiar with that board or bios so i can't be more specific.
There is some great info as well in the stickies.
Good luck ... and enjoy :)
