My system is as follow's

HP Pavilion 7920
Intel Celeron 900Mhz
384MB Ram
ASUS Mobo
Socket 370
Voodoo 3 3000 PCI card

I trying to figure out if my mobo will support PIII chip and or a faster Celeron chip and how fast I can go...

Any ideas or where i can get more information?

Thanks,

Actually, those Celeron 900 CPUs are great overclockers. Asus motherboards are usually overclocking friendly too. I'm puzzled why HP would be using that motherboard. The first step is to see what model motherboard you have, then go to the Asus website and find out if you can change the FSB and voltage. If these are adjustable, then all you need is some better cooling and you're set. Oh, and yes, P-III and Celerons up to 1.1 gig will probably work in that motherboard.

Asus actually does most of their business in OEM and system integrator boards. They usually don't have many cool features that the retail boards aimed at folks like us do unfortunately:(

I would just email the manufacturer and ask them, or go to a local computer shop and see if they know.

Somebosy in the database took the C900 to 1200+ with a ASUS MB. You might be able to outdo him with some decent cooling.

Use Sisoft Sandra and find your motherboard type and go to the Asus site see for the lastest bios, flash your bios..

Before doing that check if your FSB is adjustable.

I went to the ASUS homepage and could not find anything about my mobo. It's a model CUW-AM...

I found some similar ones CUW-RM, but not mine...

any ideas?

Hi elmachete, welcome to the Forum,
Generally you can set the desidered Fsb on the Jumper less Asus Mobo's into the Bios section called 'Advanceed Menu', if not Hacked by HP :D
