Only half of the above machines are crunching, another 120 boxes will be added on Monday.

I assume your with Team Picard?
A bit of competition is always fun.

What is the total Megahertz your team is using?
Whats Ours? Can we work this out fellow folders?

I've got approx 212,000 mhz.

666 units in one day so far by that dude. kind of takes the fun out of the whole game for the rest of us. atleast it was fun competing against oc.au

how much of a team effort is it when one person is producing more than half what the rest of the team is doing.

I don't think we have to worry about them as a team though. We should still have the lead on them even after they're up 100%(I hope so atleast) Right now I think we just need to worry about team oc.au and team Ars Techna(I think that's their name)

Where and how does one get 360 rigs together like that?!?!?!?

Propably a big company... I don't think any school would have that expensive chips.

well not necessacarily. our college just got a ton of new dell computers. most of our computer labs have atleast p3 450 chips.

Yeah. Those machines used to do RC5. I think we'll see more of this.
The only way to compete with something like that is to have someone like that on every team. So who here has access to a few hundred machines? ;) I suppose I could max out the credit card and get 50 or 60 more XP's. :D
It would be interesting to see a race between Foad and OneNutt. :)

Well, hopefully with things like this popping up, we'll have a few members that can pull similar strings for us.

It is pretty amazing what we do here on this team with primarily only our personal machines. Even Stanman's many machines are all his personal stuff.

Great job guys and lets find a school or large company network to use...(with permission, of course)

He's in charge of keeping the network working at a large company so he put folding on all the comps.

I was thinking about this again and want to take back what I said before. [H]ard|OCP hammered everyone in the stats and most of their stuff was regular end users. Granted they had OneNutt who was outproducing our entire team by himself at one point, but that was shortlived and they continued to knock out wu's like crazy. They did it by increasing the size of their team dramatically. We can do this.

Let's continue to recruit and we will beat them to 100,000 points. I think we can beat the other teams to 100,000 as well. What say you?! :D

If this guy is a net admin at a college, company, or large school district, he could easily have access to that many machines over several buildings/schools. I work for a consulting company who sells PC's to school districts and smaller colleges. Many of which are snatching up what's left of P3 1Gig platforms and the like.

Man..can you imagine the power bill! Gotta be a pubilic or private institution.

we could be the *******s and tell the school he works for that the computers are wasting electricity. if the school knew this they would sue the guy because it really isnt right to do this unless your footing the power bill. 300 computers. the extra power consumption has to be huge.

Ya I agree Kenden. But it would be nice if we could recruit him. Kind of funny though watching oc.uk's stats. Jumps up but then flatlines, jumps up then flatline. It's definitely mainly a one man show. Also, Sorry to report this but it looks like Ars might get a new recruit who is ranked in the top 10 producers. He told them that if they could knock him down to the top 40 then he'd join their team. Even though I doubt this will happen, if it does it could mean they get a nice jump. We can do this though we're getting new members all the time and remember we don't have all our members brought over from v1 yet. FOLD ON!!

That's a shot in the a** if I've ever seen one.

Who is Norgs?

He's ranked #23 out of all the members and is gaining VERY quickly. Last update he spiked up past Foad!

TrevorT IIRC.
Was folding for Ars before and did a race to 100,000 with OneNutt. OneNutt won but it was a good race and kind of interesting to watch. Lots of power there.

I think it important to put things in proper perspective at this point. If an individual has a company or colleges permission to produce then good for him. If he doesn't then he is committing a crime no ifs ands or buts about it. We have a lot of very young members who are getting caught up in the rhetoric of " if it's done in our favor then it's ok and we'll just turn a deaf ear. I will tell you unequivocally that I will have nothing to do with a group of guys so caught up in the mission that anything goes. If you have access to a machine that does not belong to you please obtain permission before investing someone else's funds to a cause that they possibly have no interest in. If you disagree with me so be it ; but please show constrant when posting your opinion. Virgin ears may be listening. Thank You.:)

All of the people mentioned above in this thread have permission and one was asked to move the machines from the RC5 project to a medical research project by the people in charge.

G'day

Norgs is an aussie and has been a poster on OCAU for a quite long time. When he started folding for Ars the OCAU team was not really around. But now with of the new v2 of folding he has been able to switch teams.

His productiion has helped us pull away but i'm sure you guys will catch up sooner or later, As will Ars and perhaps [H].

Also some of our genomers, seti folk and rc5'ers are switching to folding. This should help us keep the lead for a little while. I notice you guys still have a few v1 folders to switch over. Those guys should be able to boost your production a fair bit when they change over.

cheers and happy folding from downunder.

chestRcopRpot,

Thanks for the info. We do still have some people to move over although, it's is going to take a strong effort to close that gap now that Norgs is in the mix. But, we'll give it our all, that's for sure. :D

Fold On. ;)
