Strange .. lost 200 3Dmarks05 after OC'ing

overclocked my old gainward 6600 from 300/500 to 350/530. temperature rises up to 80 degrees while benchmarking via 3dmark. idle temp is around 60. measured with rivatuner btw.

is 80 too much or still inside the specs ?

use rivatuner and try monitor your core speed during game see if it thermal clock down. i am not sure this is a problem with 6600 gfx but u can try :D good luck

Try backing off the OC a bit and run 3DM again, see if you get better results.

With the higher temps, you could be experiancing throttling. May wanna try to get better cooling for it, or fool around with your case fans to try and drop the ambiant temp.


EDIT: With stock cooling my old 6600 (non GT) clocked 550/550, with a zalmans vf700cu it clocked 570/570.
