View Full Version : Shirt prices
Figured I'd make a new thread so others don't have to go digging in the other thread.
Hi all,
I just got prices from the printer. I gave them 2 options for the front. The circle "fold32" logo and the oc/forums logo. The printer said that to get the logo's looking nice I would need a 4 color print (for the shading) which in such a small run would be expensive. they could back it off to a 3 color on the circle logo, and a 2 color on the OC/FORUMS. The orange logo looks ok but the oc/forums looks a little blocky.
Here is the front logo (from the printer)

and here is the back that was submitted

These are on a black shirt.
With the graphics as above here are the prices.
1. Gildan Tee Shirt
2 color front / 1 color back
$10.18 ea.
3 color front / 1 color back
$12.50 ea.
2. Long Sleeve Gildan Tee
2 color front / 1 color back
$13.40 ea.
3 color front / 1 color back
$14.95 ea.
The Gildan Tee is a thicker shirt. I hate it when t-shirts fall apart in a few months.
I might play around with a black/white logo for the front. Maybe use the pirate font and just put letters on the front

Est 2000 AD.
Or something like that. what do you guys think?
Also... Maybe take the yellow in the cirsle of the logo a little more orange? make the other letters stick out better?

Wow, looks nice (and pretty cheap). But I really don't think the skull and swords fit in with the folding theme. They make it seem kinda like we're taking lives, instead of saving them.
But it looks cool.

Really nice prices, though I must say I am not a big fan of the pirate theme. Though sometinhg simple like that with only one color would be nice.
nice prices :)
Heres a font format i made in a min.. just.. more creative ideas for people :) ^^

I'm not a big fan of the pirate thing either (howbout ninjas? :sn: ;) ) Maybe Nahmus' logo on the front and then what azu has on the back? I seem to recall reading there would be 2 or 3 final designs (would it be possible to print up designs based on how many people want each one?).
One thing that the printer told me is that any kind of shading usually requires 4 colors to get it to look nice, and in a small run it gets expensive. Alot of the designes that have been submitted will probably fall into that area. Just something to think of.
This guy is a decent size printer but along with shirts he does pretty much eyerything else (hats, cups mouse pads, frisbees whatever) Maybe someone out there has a contact with a shirt only printer where the colors will be less expensive.
The pirate theme came out of me playing around. Were almost like pirates... We go in.. we borg... we leave. Thats also why I kept the original pirate skull instead of a "meaner" looking skull. Tried to keep it looking playful.
I tried to design something I would wear. I go to alot of biker rally's and dirty little metal clubs. This would fit in fine. Its kinda funny to me that one of my biker friends would be wearing a hard core nerd shirt. That makes me laugh.
I also liked some of the other designs. and if they get printed I'll get some of them as well.
I understand that not everyone is into pirates and stuff and thats cool. Thats part of the reason this team does so well is that there are so many different people from different areas working together. We all have different tastes.

I just did these quickly to replace the front color graphic. What do you guys think?

They would not be this big. I just did not figure out how to resize them yet :D
I'm thinking these would be on the top left of the shirt in an approprate size for the placement.

I like all of them nahmus. I also like the pirate.
Black only?
I guess I could ask about other colors. Black lettering on white gray? What did you have in mind?
Well, most computer guys I've seen, well, have'nt seen that much of the sun. And nothing makes a guy look whiter than black. white gray, white, something cheap, but not black.

Figure out which one it'll be Nahmus & I'll be working on at least 2 more designs to submit through Capt Slug.
Then well have a "Done Shirt" design thread or something.
I'd still like to see like 4 or 5 different shirts available for Forum (Folding) members.
:attn:
Ok here go the new prices. This is with the lettering on the front and pirate logo on the back. (See above)
I will ask about black lettering on gray. I'm not sure if that would be another setup fee or require a full run. Can you think of any other color that would go with the white lettering? Maybe a dark Maroon?
Any preference on the wording? I'm kinda liking #1 or #4
Short sleve 12 pieces
$ 6.50 ea.
Long Sleeve Tees
$8.70 ea.
Girls Tank Tops
$ 9.10
Set up: $25.00

Oh, and having whiter skin than your socks are white, is ok.
I can get a dark blue or dark red shirt for the same price.
I will probably make another topic tonight to get a gague of sizes and now colors. then I can go to the printers tomorow or the next day, pay for it and we will have the NEW folding shirts !!!.
I'll also see what shipping might be. I will charge whatever the cost of the shirt is + shipping. I do have a paypal account but I've never received money on it. I'll have to look into it. Plus I guess we can always do money orders or cheques.
If I were to change the color of the lettering then there would be other costs involved. Maybe do a black ink on white (or other light colors) in the next run.
Any preference on the wording???

Find out how many people want this shirt in the
1st place.
Some of the guys wanted other shirts.
I was thinking 3 - 5 different shirts altogether.
And do several runs, or have Capt slug put them up on his site so they
can order direct
& not mess with 3rd party shipping.
At this point I'm going to run this through my local guy here. He's given me some good prices and It looks like I'm going to need him for some other projects so the more I give him the better it will be for me.
I also have no problems doing the shipping. It should be the same in the lower 50 so I'll just come up with a price and then see who wants what. After the first run if we wanted to move it to another printer thats fine as well.

could you find out how "expensive" is for a 4 color print?? IF it's not a lot more or non reasonable, I think quite a few of us would rather to have a nicer color shirt. just my 0.02.
I kinda agree with LS.
I will pay for higher quality.
sure no problem. Which design? the orange folding circle? the Oc forums? or just 4 color in General? No harm in asking :D

Might as well make that lettering glow in the dark just in case.

If you could just kind of in general. The logo for one thing, but also on the back. If he has some type of price sheet for colors that would be nice so we could try and figure out a good combo of price and quality.
I posted this in the other thread. Anything 4 color (shading/hi def) would be about 18-25.00 per shirt. It could be more. The thing that makes this so expensive is the small run size 12 and 24.

That's still not to bad, and if the images are done nicly to where they won't just fade off I would be happy getting one at the price for better quality.
I've seen some of the shirts that this guy does. They are well done. He also does cups, hats buttons... pretty much everything.
hmmmmm t32 mouse pads????
I set up this thread for orders. Please post up if you want one. I started a seperate thread so its easier for me to keep track :D
