This game looks amazing, no direct linking to other sites pic please...krag do you think the game will need SLI?...Heh!
What kind of PC do you think they'll use?
I'm guessing,
All of this at least watercooled and overclocked,
Dual Core FX60
Quad-SLI 7900gtx 512mb (if it's available to them)
4gb of RAM
1000watt PSU
Asus mobo
Physics card
Your guesses? :)

I doubt it will be that extreme, SLI 7900GTX will be enough to power this game just fine. If you look past the, granted, AMAZING, lighting you will notice most of the models are pretty low poly (i.e. the stick on the grond) the branches are the right are horrible looking as well, just 2d planes with a transparency map... Also i'm pretty sure the ground is just a flat texture.

they will probably use some 30'' widescreen (either Dells or Apples)

Perhaps, but I think they probably want it to run at as high FPS as possible on a monitor that supports 85hz + to "wow" the masses more, you know, good PR (public relations).
I sure hope it'll run on a much simpler system with high settings :santa:

Im guessing maybe a X1800XT, 1 gig of ram, and an FX55. Afterall, this is the DirectX 9 version. That system that Spoudazo posted would be way overkill for this game unless you were running it on that new Dell 30 inch lcd with everything maxed out.

1gb of RAM won't even cut it for BF2 and remain "de-chugg-ified" :p

BF2 uses horrible code and has alot of memory leaks. Even Oblivion doesnt use more than 1Gig of ram and that game has tons of textures to load. Im pretty sure that this game will use wonderful code since its being made by the makers of Farcry. Hopefully EA wont get too involved or else you will need 2gigs of ram.
i agree... BF2... is just a RAM *****.... but this game... looks AWESOME

That picture was taken out of a scene rendered with a DX10 video card anyways. Im sure that the DX9 version will look alot different.

Well, Oblivion has horrible code, seeing as how 17-18fps is the common on my PC and several other 7800gtx/7900gt/gtx PCs

I wouldnt say that it uses horrible code, it just wasnt optimised for pc's. Which is why there has been so many ini mods for it.
Yeah, it won't run fully even on 7900GTXs, mainly because it's a DX10 game, will require a whole new generation of arse spanking cards.
BTW, that screenshot is scary, because it's SOOO freeking realisitc, man, I can't believe it!

Yeah, that model is just a stick figure and the ground texture is just a flat white sheet.
Low res textures for sure...
The screenshots do look amazing.
Think they'll put out a Linux version? ;)

This was kind of a weird thread to come in on after the picture had changed. I thought everyone was just playing along with some sort of joke. Then I saw the mod post....makes sense now.

I think this game will need more then anything, much more support for physics processing, either sheer use of Dual core, or a Ageia Physix card.

Agreed, they better get that game out asap or it'll be "just another new game" again.
And Crysis is kinda like F.E.A.R. and FarCry combined :) (+DX10).
