say...are those .ICO files necessary? i mean the icon is in the exe file itself, right? wrong?
well, it's because it's really annoying when you like wanna play a game or launch an app, and you find out that it was just an .ico!
any comments?

The icon is not always in the exe, most of the time.. yes it is. Besides, you can always have the show all details on and/or the "do not hide extensions" option turned on.;)

If it has ICO files in the directory, then the program dosen't have the icon embedded into it. You can safely delete them if you want... You just won't get to have that as an icon anymore.

I always have Explorer to show Details, it's quite obvious that the 1K or 2K one is the icon and the 595K is the executable.

oh thanks people!
it is annoying to have the show extenstions enabled...
so i'll still have to cick on the file and check its size before i rub my hand!

You could make yourself a mess and dump all the .ico files into a single directory and then point the executable to there. But that would get ugly in the end and be time consuming.
