View Full Version : Windows NT 4.0 for gaming?
Hi, I was wondering if any of you guru's out there think that this would be a bad idea. I am only considering this because 98se is so bad on any system I ever used as far as freeze ups, and the like. I would consider windows 2000 execpt for the price tag of $130 compared to $40 for NT 4.0.
Anyway do you guys think this would be a bad OS for gaming?

I've tried and and can say from experience that windows NT4 is a BAD OS for gaming, you'll find anything new at all won't run, and anything old will run if only you're lucky.
Anybody else have any thoughts on this?

Yes
NT4.0 is not a gaming OS, and was never intended to be. It does not support Plug & Play, it does not support USB and more importantly, it doesn't support DirectX higher than 3.0. Which screws you pretty much for anything released in the last 3 years.
