Hi!

Im getting cruncher times at about 5h/piece but If you look in the list you see alot of others getting 4-5hours with less cpu power, why? It can't always be the size of the packet, because they have an average of 4h-5h....Is there something I can do to speed it up? Im using the text based version in win2k right now...

Speed facts on the piece im working on now...

*182.28 Mflops
*6.31 CpF
*Floating point operations to process 3.37
*Estimated time ~5h +- 5minutes

Any ideas? (Sorry if the spelling is crap swedish :) )

it could be that you have a duron, and people with similar speeds are using athlons. L2 cach is pretty important in seti....as far as i understand it. those are not bad scores at all though.

. Swap file optimisation will give a small speed gain, and there are some tasks that should be disabled such as virus checkers. These can really hog CPU time if they are scanning the system as a background task.
You can also run Sisoft Sandra's performance Tune-up Wizard and it will list services that can be disabled.

sounds like the people you are talking about are using athlons
i dont think ive seen many durons crunching under 5hours
but thats a good setup you have
with good times
my duron 800@920 puts out WU's in just over 7 hours

Well it seems it may not be so bad then, thanks :)

The Durons is around 5-6 hours .. I never seen more or less from a Duron ranging from 850 - 1gig.
